Accountability Challenge - Week 30 - November 7, 2009

It looks like just about everyone has given up on our community. That is too bad because I believe we have some great people here. Oh well that the way it goes.

This has been a good week for me. I was watching what I was eating closely. Avoided all sweets and desserts and ate more veggies and fruits. I did not do any workouts which is one thing I wanted to start.

I received an unexpected package Thursday. It was my TRX Suspension Trainer. I have installed an eye bolt in beam and am already to go. Just need to review the DVD workout that was included.

This weeks goals:
Begin TRX workouts
Log calorie intake each day. Calculate calories each day to give me a base line to begin a calorie deficit.
Drink more water.

I have not given up on the community but just been watching. How is the TRX Trainer?

Glad to see you here. I haven't give the TRX a full workout but looks to be a great piece of equipment for my home gym set up. A little pricey for some straps but they are great quality and very adjustable. Their web sit has a forum with lots of examples of different exercises.

Well let us know how you enjoy the TRX stuff. Seems like it would be a easy way to bring your workout anywhere. I gotta get back to working out. I have been a total bum and my diet has really sucked as of late. If it is a good kit I might think about ordering one up. I have a full dumbbell and weight set but my biggest issue is not having someone to spot me and room for any good cardio equipment. I use the Ironmaster stuff. Good quality stuff. Also got there new kettlebell. http://www.ironmaster.com/store/Quick-Lock-Kettlebell-pr-129.html
Kettlebells seem like they could provide a good workout but don't focus a lot on the chest area. I really need to find a good workout routine for the Kettlebells. My biggest issue is space, we own a one bedroom condo, so I gotta hide things in plain site....it becomes a trick. (you can see in the pictures how I hide my weight bench in the living room.)
Current Home Gym setup:
Quick-Lock Dumbbell System (75 lb set with Rack) & Add on Kit to 120 lbs - Quick-Lock
EZ Curl Bar for Quick-Lock weights
2 Quick-Lock Kettlebells
Super Bench with Crunch Situp Attachment
Universal Door Mount Pull up Bar
Thats my home setup. I have gym membership to but just getting myself to go is half the issue.

Anyways, totally recommend the ironmaster stuff. Its solid stuff.

I know the small apartment thing. I lived in one a long time ago. That is very creative way of hiding your bench. I like the kettlebells. The price seems right for what you get. I found some pink 10 lbs for 25 bucks. Wow! Even if they were a 10th of that price I don't think I would buy pink ones.

I tried some of theTRX exercises I saw on youtube. The Atomic Pushup almost dislocated my should. Basically you do a regular push up but with our hands in the straps. You need lots of stability strength in your shoulders. I only managed 6 reps.

I plan my first workout tomorrow.

Have a great week.
