My eating habits are returning to normal, five small meals a day. Drinking more water. Unfortunately havent exercised at all!
Emphasis on unfortunately. I have gained 0.5 kg last week. I have been keeping my stress levels in check though.

Lol, someone is getting a little excited, the board is always very quiet. Honestly I found this board to be very lacking. The book was good and I enjoyed the reading but the site leaves much to be desired.

Counting calories
I'm finding counting calories to be difficult. I just 'wing it' when it comes to packing lunch for the day, making estimating calories difficult. And some south African cuisine have no labels...

Habit
My body is finally accustomed to waking up at 5 am - so even yesterday when I thought I'd sleep for an extra hour instead of going to gym - I only ended up tossing and turning. Awesome habit. But I need to sleep early too. Because I get so sleepy after lunch time.

Workout A
TBSs workout A seems simple when you read it. Do it. I did workout A yesterday and my thighs are sore now. Less exercises with major impact. You can feel your muscles working afterwards! I did a low intensity cardio session today and tomorrow I'll try workout B. Tom Venuto knows his stuff!

Day one
Done reading TBFS, feel motivated. I have been paying gym fees for nothing - for excuses not to go. Its true - after January will power from new years resolutions lasts a while - but thanks to TBFS - I think I'm close to forming a habit. A darn good one. Not sure what my daily calorie intake is, in SA we use kilojoules but the conversion is simple. Emotional eating is a serious disease hey. I am shocked to see that you wrote me a whole month ago! First of all thanks for writing. Second, sorry it took me so long to answer. I kept meaning to do it and the time just slipped away.
It's been almost a year since I began and I have made some progress over all. I lost 40 pounds which is great. Unfortunately that's half what I intended to lose this year so I'm not feeling as good about it as I might. I am just getting myself out of a pretty sticky down time. Depression feels like too strong a word but it was pretty close to that. I've been struggling to get solidly back on my eating program and exercise program--haven't done it yet. The work I do with my weight loss support group I run helped me to stay fairly steady, so that was good. Now to begin progressing again.
What do you think you need to be able to make progress? Have you reached some of your goals? Did you try FitDay? Did you find it useful? I need to go back to using it. It really helped me when I stuck to my writing things down.
Again, sorry for the delay in writing--I was thinking about you!

Glad to hear you're well. And thanks for the nice feedback about the blog. It certainly motivates me knowing I'll have to post about my lazy fat ass if I don't go and do a workout!
As for calories for my recipes, if they're not listed, I don't have them. That's because if I got them from somewhere that included the calorie count, I will probably include that information. But if the info wasn't there to start with, I won't go and work it out because I don't like counting calories. I find if I try to eat healthily most of the time, the calories seem to take care of themselves. This works for me because I am quite large and got that way by not eating healthily, or at least not often enough. If you have less weight to lose, or have different body goals, this may not be enough.
If you are determined to work out calories, a good resource is the USDA Nutrient Database, which has info on lots of whole foods, and packaged foods available in the US. Another good site, this one Australian, is Calorie King. Hope that helps.
